约翰 纳尔逊 亨德尔：瑟蜜蕾 John Nelson - Handel：Semele 3CD套装(m58.net)
由著名女高音凯瑟琳•芭特尔（Kathleen Battle）演唱，约翰•纳尔逊指挥英国室内乐团演奏灌录的《亨德尔：瑟蜜蕾》，2009年的《企鹅古典唱片指南》中推荐为三星。
继卡里西米和许茨以后，整个巴洛克时期（1600-1750）最杰出的清唱剧大师当数英籍德国作曲家亨德尔（George Frideric Handel，1685-1759）。亨德尔的创作主要是歌剧和清唱剧。亨德尔一生共创作了32部清唱剧，大部分都是以圣经故事为题材。比较有影响，时至今日还经常上演的有：《扫罗》、《以色列人在埃及》、《弥赛亚》、《参孙》、《犹大•玛可白》、《约书亚》和《所罗门》。这套唱片收录的《瑟蜜蕾》也是作曲家非常有代表性的作品。
2009年是作曲家亨德尔逝世250周年，各家唱片公司无不铆足了劲，将录音史上重要的亨德尔作品重新整理上市。亨德尔1711年定居英国，1727年归化为英国公民之后，总计在英国居住49年，其间，他将伦敦打造成了最有音乐气息的都市之一，虽然他最受欢迎的是由于乔治一世国王的因素而于1717年所谱写的《水上音乐》，然而清唱剧与巴洛克歌剧才是最能呈现亨德尔作曲特长的重点。
