Solo pianist Mia Jang's sophomore effort finds her marrying her classical training to the dictates of New Age instrumentals with excellent results. Soothing, soft, and decorative, without ever lapsing into over-simplicity or sentimentality, Jang's piano compositions are thoughtful, elegantly constructed, and pleasing to the ear. Jang's prowess as a pianist may not bowl listeners over; yet that is precisely the appeal of WATER CIRCLES. This fine release is full of gentle, melodic music that suggests true artistry, and makes a perfect companion for meditation, massage, yoga, or simple relaxation.
